Formed in 2014 by singer-songwriter Lauren Kamberi and producer/guitarist John Price, Irene & The Disappointments are a dream-pop band from Liverpool, UK.
They released their first album, "About The Walls" in 2015, followed by, "So Long, Sweet Lime" in 2018 and "27 LP" in 2020.
Recently joined by bass player and vocalist Matthew Reekie, the band are currently working on their fourth album, "The Table & Its Planetary Chairs", due to be self-released in late 2023. Inbetween albums, the band has produced a roster of music videos to accompany singles from their LPs.
Drawing on diverse influences such as; Joanna Newsom, Cocteau Twins, Fiona Apple, Teenage Fanclub, Echo & The Bunnymen, Carole King and Todd Rundgren; Irene & The Disappointments' music incorporates sweeping vocal melodies and harmonies with jangly, chiming guitars, backed by powerful drums and bass.
Career highlights so far include radio play from Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 6 Music, being featured on Dave Monks' BBC Introducing show no less than three times, playing Liverpool Sound City festival in 2016 and most recently supporting the band Summer Camp at their farewell show in 2022.
